“If you want to make a positive impact in the lives of the people, animals, and environment of your community, then I highly recommend that you apply to ASB. You will make many new friends and have experiences that you will remember for the rest of your life.”

Fall 2012:
“I am currently serving as a member of AmeriCorps NCCC- FEMA Corps until June 2013. This program is a new partnership between AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to focus on disaster relief with a team based structure of young adults. Participating in the Alternative Spring Break program has given me a great advantage in team building activities and leadership roles. The activities that we did last spring were very similar to many of the activities that I participate in now. I appreciated the opportunity last spring to participate is ASB… it really impacted me greatly and has helped shape some of the experiences I am having in my life now.”

“Giving is just as, if not more, rewarding than receiving and one small gesture can make someone’s life a little brighter.”
